On January 22, 2009, Charles Cooper of the band Telefon Tel Aviv was found dead in Chicago, IL.
Telefon Tel Aviv are an electronica (IDM, specifically) band based out of Chicago, with origins in New Orleans. In 2009, the pair released their 3rd album, Immolate Yourself, which quickly became their most critically-acclaimed release and found the band drawing from a variety of influences, including Feels-era Animal Collective, Timbaland, and M83. The song posted below is the most immediately intriguing song from the album, in my opinion, and I think you'll probably enjoy it's demented 80s pop sound.
